A unique opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK’s most respected hospice organisations as Interim CEO Strategy Director. This assignment comes at a pivotal moment as they embark on an ambitious transformation programme whilst maintaining our exceptional standards of patient care.

The Role:

Working directly with the Board of Trustees and Executive team, you will lead the development and implementation of our 2025-2030 strategy, with particular focus on:

• Digital transformation of patient services and operational systems
• Integration of newly acquired hospice facilities
• Development of sustainable funding streams, including NHS partnerships
• Modernisation of clinical pathways whilst maintaining CQC ‘Outstanding’ rating

Key Deliverables:

• Design and implement a comprehensive transformation programme
• Lead the merger integration workstream across multiple sites
• Develop innovative partnership models with local NHS Trusts and ICBs
• Create a robust commercial strategy for our private patient services
• Oversee the implementation of a new EPR system

Essential Experience:

• Proven track record of strategic leadership within healthcare settings
• Successful delivery of large-scale transformation programmes (£10M+)
• Experience of working with NHS commissioners and funding bodies
• Strong understanding of CQC requirements and clinical governance
• History of successful stakeholder management at Board level
• Previous interim assignments within hospice or specialist care settings

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent)
• Professional membership of recognised management body
• Evidence of continued professional development in healthcare leadership

Location: South East England (hybrid working available)

Start Date: March 2025

Duration: 6-9 months with potential for extension

Day Rate: £900-£1,200 depending on experience
